The one and only Japanese combination to enter the SHOWDOWN has been completed by Bob Swinburn and his team. Sporting a turbo Toyota 6 cylinder 2JZ engine, the brand new boat 'Totally X-Static' is sure to turn some heads.

This engine may be less than half of the capacity of B.A.D big block combo's, but the little 3.0 litre pumps out plenty of mumbo. Built by GAS Motorsports, the 1300 horsepower straight six is very similar to a drag car engine, except it has been modified and tuned to suit the extremely demanding world of powerboat racing.
On board with Swinburn will be the latest in engine management technology by way of a Motec computer. Everything needs to be 100% for the monster GARRETT turbo setup to be effective, so make no mistake- there's been no expense spared getting 'Totally X-Static' ready for racing.
Why not stick with V8's? Well this GAS combination has been proven before by Bruce Sanders and his 'Red Bellies' team which has shown tremendous terminal speed and an equally tremendous level of reliability on circuits around the country, including Adelaide.
Where Swinburn's setup mainly differs from 'Red Bellies' is the hull. Not an 18'6" ChildsPlay but a brand new 19 foot Evercraft with a center mount reinforced cockpit.
An upcoming test session will ease our suspense as far as the performance of this boat goes.
