With just four weeks to go, the list of contenders for the SHOWDOWN is really beginning to heat up, and the latest entry is of course Dean Gleeson's 'Kryptonite'.
Gleeson's weaponry comes in the form of a 21 foot ChildsPlay, and is in fact one of the first to have been made by the Newall's some time ago, originally purchased by Brian McCosker.
Since taking the reigns of this boat's campaign, Gleeson has had a mix of displays on the water and has awed crowds both with terminal speed and several untidy mishaps. Anyone who attended the Marj Watson would have witnessed Dean's 720 degree spin midway down the back straight.
Untidy or not, Gleeson drives hard and when he gets it right the podium is always in sight. The boat handles rough water nicely and the Hemi engine is stout, making 'Kryptonite' a certain contender for the Jeff Thomson Memorial Trophy.
