No stopping for some during off-season

15th September 2009

The off season has allowed our South Aussie competitors the chance to get stuck right in to developing their race boats.

Team Proformance have completed stage 1 of their new Displacement hull (pictured above) together with their new twin turbo engine, but that's not all.

Dean Borg has stated he's unhappy with their boat's performance at the BAD Boat Showdown.

"We should be doing 130+ (miles per hour) but we're not" Dean says.

Not only are the guys making some adjustments to the boat itself but Vince has already pulled the 540 cube Chev down completely.

"Yes Dean gave me a kick in the a*$s!" says Dean's father Vince.

"His old motor was stronger than the new one, it's no secret.

"However I'm sure I'm on top of it now.

"As for the new turbo motor, I don't have much to do with it- that's Dean's department.

"The boat is coming along nicely and we'll be fitting it out in the next few weeks."

Another team undergoing changes- In Excess. John Loveday's engine is back in their sprint car so Jeff Stunell and Jamie Magor are re-installing the ball tearing 6 Litre engine and will be back in force in their favourite class next season.

B.A.D team The Real Thing are still working to get their 21ft Racecraft fitted out with a safety cell. Engine development is well under way and the guys are expecting to be in the region of 2000hp at 8000rpm.

Another B.A.D team is attempting to establish itself in South Australia, which if successful this season will make it 12 Blown Alcohol Displacement's. How's that for club racing!

Several other teams are busy at this very moment readying for a journey East- the Windsor Spectacular.

More details on those heading over soon.
