Club spirit alive and well at 2010 presentations

A large crowd of patrons filled the Adelaide Speedboat Club on Saturday for the 2010 presentation dinner where a number of well deserved people received recognition & awards.
Club Person of the Year was awarded to a partnership- shared by loving couple Cozzie & Jo Amato who are familiar friendly faces at the club everytime the doors are open.
Noted for his exceptional efforts in past racing seasons both as a supporter, racer and Club Commodore, the Club's latest Life Membership has been awarded to Mark Palazzo who is indeed a most honourable patron of the ASBC. Mark needs no introduction and is of course one of the pioneers of Adelaide's very own "BAD Boat Showdown".
 On an emotional note, Jamie Magor was the recipient of a very prestigous trophy in honour of his father, the late racing great Peter Magor. Peter won the 1992 Paynesville Gold Cup but never formally received the trophy before his passing and so it is with tremendous pride that the Adelaide Speedboat Club award this trophy to his Son Jamie on behalf of the East Gippsland Aquatic Club. Peter was not only a legendary racer but was one of the pioneers of campaigning blown small-block engines and his legacy lives on in racing to this very day.
Last but not least, our standout competitor for season 2009/2010 has been none other than Linton Price who has dominated all year. In a very fitting end to his first season on the circuit, Linton was awarded both Rookie of the Year and Driver of the Year having won more races than any other driver from the club.
Linton's racing future is certainly looking bright and we can all look forward to him gaining further experience and further developing his skills as a race driver. Linton also competes as a dinghy racer in the Riverland so he will certainly be a difficult man to match in the coming years.
