Local B.A.D Boats on display at Clipsal 500
13th March 2010
Once again the Adelaide Speedboat Club has been represented at the Clipsal 500.
Getting the crowds attention was easy with the P.R.E K-Boat 'K-88 Beautiful Noise' backed up to a newer concept in 'Totally X-Static' which left many turbo enthusiasts quite impressed. Meanwhile a few of the lads handed out flyers for the upcoming Dorwin Gold Cup and elsewhere in the arena was Blown Lite 'Titan' showing off its paint job and giving the new BAD Boy Mowers Superboat Championship a bit of exposure.
A big thank you to all who gave their time and helped out over the 4 days.
Our South Aussie champ goes back to back
9th March 2010
Congratulations are in order for Trevor Stanley who remains the reigning Australian Champion after retaining the Errol Jay trophy yesterday. Continuing his winning form in Agent Orange, Stanley qualified in pole 1 ahead of main rival Chris Palmer in Outlaw. After a close hitout between the two Palmer unfortunately shattered the gearbox and Outlaw was unable to finish.
Final placings:
1. Agent Orange 2. Patriot 3. Rock Solid DNF: Outlaw
Terry Smith was also in Tasmania with Alcatraz and despite dominating his class encountered a fuel shortage problem at the start of one of his races. Looks like one of the crew members may be appointed a different task at the next major meeting.
Well done guys, you've all done us proud representing SA while abroad.
Stanley in box seat for title defense
7th March 2010
Trevor Stanley and his crew have been busy competing in Tasmania this weekend and reports are that the boat is back to its best. Clocked at 141MPH today in the last race, Stanley was leading but spun on a turn allowing his main rival Chris Palmer in Outlaw to overtake him and finish first.
After last weeks win in the Cock of the Mersey and the terminal speed shown today, Stanley is looking good for his Australian Title defense in the Errol Jay trophy to be run tomorrow. Stay tuned for more news on the event.
