| Former Duggan Balancing race boat now resides in Adelaide. |
Bob Damerow's 19ft 6" Bruce Everingham has been sleeping in his Port Adelaide workshop for some time and after 3 years of work it is ready to go and will be making its first appearance for the season at Adelaide this Sunday.
Damerow is expected to run his boat against the much talked about Tuff'E'Nuff owned by David Clark and if this is the case we will see blown boat racing return at Adelaide for the first time since compulsory enclosed driver cockpits were enforced by the APBA.
'Bonker Returns' sports a somewhat conservative small block combination that although intended for the Blown Lites national series has the potential for dialling in much more horsepower to take on big guns like Tuff'E'Nuff. Being Damerow's first outing in 3 years it is fair to say that he will be creeping up on the performance & won't be out to break any lap time records.
That being said we're expecting a good show. Lining up against the two blown boats will be 3 very quick 6 litre boats Kelsabel, Bite Me Too & the new look In Excess, fresh from top level competition at Bundaberg in Queensland.
Hot favorite for top honors at the upcoming club day this Sunday would have to be Jeff Stunell with In Excess, based on his experience & ability to push his boat to the limits. That being said, the blown boat drivers will be keen to put on a good show for the crowd & keep the 'buzzy' 6 litre boats at bay.
