Stanley sets new benchmark in his first King Of The River victory at Berri

The Agent Orange racing team have spent the night in Berri, South Australia celebrating their highly anticipated King Of The River win on Sunday, 29th January 2012.

Trevor Stanley & his dedicated entourage have returned to the sport of boat racing with a vengence, cleaning up the competition in all races at the Berri Resort Hotel Spectacular.

And there were certainly no slouches amongst the competition yesterday.

David Clark's boat Tuff'E'Nuff has dramatically improved thanks to a new propeller and his confidence was again shining at Berri, consistenly racing throughout the weekend and making the final race as he has done so many times before.

Alf Ebborn, a.k.a 'Alfie Airborne' was one of the few interstate competitors in the B.A.D class to make the journey to SA and he was looking very fast, nipping at the heels of Borg & Stanley.

Dean Borg and his family team have made some big changes to their self made Proformance race boat and it looks to finally be running with efficiency across the water. Borg showed a dramatic increase in terminal speed and was also a contender in the final race yesterday. A galant effort indeed considering Dean's very serious accident at the same place only 2 years ago.

Bob Swinburn was also back on the attack with his Toyota 2J powered Evercraft 'Totally X-Static' and was pushing hard, despite not finishing all races he entered. The crowd simply love watching & hearing the distinct note of the high powered turbo 6 cylinder power plant.

Last but not least, Craig Bailey was up for the challenge and despite blowing up his engine earlier in the weekend was still able to bounce back and make the final race of the day. Naturally he elected outside pole as per his custom and he was on the hunt for a super quick Stanley.

Full credit to Trevor Stanley - he managed to hold Bailey off on more than one occassion, beating him to the finish line in spectacular fashion for the first time in his career.

A big step forward for the Agent Orange team that for so long endevoured to race blown alcohol in open deck fashion - the move to a cell boat has certainly paid dividends thus far.
