IT'S OFFICIAL- EVENT CANCELLED
16th August, 3:10pm
Due to poor weather conditions event organisers have just announced that the BAD Boat SHOWDOWN has been cancelled.
WHAT DID WE DO TO DESERVE THIS?
16th August, 3:00pm
The wind has failed to ease and despite more practice runs from In Excess, Proformance & The Boss the BAD Boat SHOWDOWN is all but cancelled. A crying shame considering the count-less hours of effort gone into organising what was supposed to be an event to be remembered for decades.
Stand by for the official announcement.
JAC RACING FOLLOWS SUIT
16th August, 1:00pm
In another brave effort from one of our local competitors, Chris Wellington has put on a display for eager crowds pushing his 5lt boat around the course. The boat is sounding good although he was unable to keep the throttle open.
BONDAGE SHOWS SUPPORT
16th August, 1:00pm
Brian Jefferys has completed what is probably the fastest lap today amidst the rough water. We could feel the pound of the waves on his Everingham hull as he drove past, once again it looked like hard work.
CANCELLATION PENDING
16th August, 12:30pm
Trevor Stanley and Dean Borg have both taken to the water which is so rough that the guys were leaping completely out of the water at 50mph. Kryptonite is on the water now and cannot get on the throttle.
If you are religious please pray for the organisers...
CROSSY TESTS THE WATER, STILL TOO ROUGH
16th August, 11:30am
Veteran/madman John Cross took to the white caps for a quick test run to see if the water was good enough to race and at this stage the answer is no. Cross managed to get Rival wide open on the home straight but it certainly looked like hard work.
HIGH WIND HAMPERS SHOWDOWN, START DELAYED
16th August, 11:00am
It seems the weather curse on the Adelaide Speedboat Club is still in effect and we are already behind schedule. Enormous white caps have riddled the course and the wind has been increasing. Stay tuned.
