KRYPTONITE (Dean Gleeson)
This relatively new boat on the BAD Boat scene is taking no time in making its presence known at major race meetings.
The word from Yarrawonga at last years EC Griffith Cup was that Dean Gleeson had this boat matching the big GP hydros for speed until an engine failure halted their challenge there. Come forward to Mildura in May of this year and those present again witnessed an awesomely fast boat and driver with a couple of spectacular things from Dean Gleeson and Kryptonite.
Whether it was racing side by side at 150+ MPH with the likes of 'The Real Thing' and 'Liberty' with only a cigarette paper between them or completing a full 720 degree ‘airborne’ spin mid race only to get straight back on with the race….well if nothing else, they are exciting.
How does that relate to the Showdown....I'm not sure. Only to say that don't take your eyes off of Dean Gleeson and Kryptonite when they are on the water. Anything could happen and when it does, the above would suggest it is likely to be spectacular. The boat is fast, the driver is more than willing to mix it up and combined they are a little unpredictable. Anything, and I mean anything, could happen with this one.
Can it win? Possibly! Will it? Dunno!
One thing is for sure, it will be a thrill a minute watching them try!
