LIBERTY (Brian McCosker)
Not much needs to be said about Brian McCosker and his boat ‘Liberty’.
Quite frankly, this man and his crew don't need to justify themselves to anyone in the sport of Blown Alcohol Displacement boat racing.
They have led the way in engine development and outright boat speed for years, winning trophy after trophy culminating with them winning the 2007 "World Blown Boat" Championship right here in Australia. They are the team that everyone has been chasing for most of the last decade or more which leaves only one word......RESPECT!
2 years however is a long time and since winning the World Championship a lot of other teams have narrowed the shear speed gap between them and the once revered 'Liberty' and now know that this once invincible outfit can be beaten.
That will make winning the Showdown that much tougher for this legendary man and machine. It will also make winning it that much sweeter!
I imagine that the bringing together of arguably the best line up of BAD boats ever seen in Australia is just the stage that Brian will want, and relish, to prove that he is still the one to beat.
If Brian McCosker and 'Liberty' can regain their once customary 'hole shot', and win the sprint to the first bouy, he will be a very, very difficult man to catch.
In any field of blown boats, you can never discount Brian McCosker and 'LIBERTY'!
