Smith surprises all in escape from Alcatraz

A newly formed 6 litre combo between Kevin Stanley & Terry Smith has proven successful during it's 'warm up' for Bundy at the ASBC yesterday.

Powered with a Dodge/Mopar NASCAR engine from the USA, spinning at 8800rpm, Alcatraz is nudging the 110mph mark and yesterday made it 3 wins from 3 races making Smith the current HI-POINTS championship leader.

Overshadowing this accomplishment is the turn of events seen during the final race of the day, which was a mixed class event including 2 B.A.D boats Tuff'e'Nuff and Insanity. After the first turn at the bridge end, Alcatraz emerged the leader and left the rest of the competition in it's wake- including the reknowned blown alcohol displacement boats.

This unexpected win has given the Alcatraz camp added confidence heading over to Bundy Thunder where they will be testing their wares against the top 6 litre boats from around the country including Extreme Sacrifice, Hi-Flya, plus injected boats such as Image, True Blue, The Chase & of course In Excess.

Despite this the guys are remaining level headed and aren't putting too much pressure on themselves to win. Time will tell with Bundy Thunder only days away.
