ELLISE BORG CROWNED ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

Teenage sensation Miss Ellise Borg took the honors as rookie of the year for season 2008/2009.

What a season she's had with team Proformance. Neck and neck racing with Formula Stock Champion Chris Wellington, winning performances in both scratch and handicap racing, and second place in the HI POINTS series just to top it off.

Watching from the sidelines during a race, Ellise looked to be anything but in her rookie year. At times it would in fact be seasoned veteran Dean Borg behind the wheel unbeknownst to onlookers who thought Ellise was driving the whole time. Her performances are truly a credit to her and all that support her.

In receiving her awards at the weekend, Ellise was modest and appreciative of her support team.

"I just want to thank Mum, for letting me drive the boat, Dad for giving me the boat to drive, and Grandpa for changing the engines" Ellise said.

Well done to Ellise and the Proformance crew, a great family effort and a perfect start to a young persons racing career. A few more seasons and we could have our first female B.A.D Boat competitor.
